I finally have access to the resident parking lot and my badge swipes me into the back entrance of the hospital. Finally, after all these years as a medical student trying to find street parking or paying for the ramp parking and then waiting at the back door for someone to happen to pass by to let me in.
Later that day I was asked to write an order, and so I asked if I needed someone else to cosign it. My senior reminded me that I‘m not a student anymore. So I raced to the chart and placed the order, proudly brandishing my stamp and leaving my pager number.
Later that day the team told me to cancel the order because it had already been done. So I went up and cancelled it, apologizing to the nurse who had already placed the call for the consult. The consulted doctor called and the nurse apologized, saying I was just a new intern who made a mistake.
Oh well... half a day of feeling empowered is better than never!

My first blog ever.
This is my first blog ever, created using Blogger. Seems like a nifty no-effort blog designer. I should be sleeping now, since I have to wake up early tomorrow. Anyway, let's see how it looks!
I am disappointed in America's choice of Nathaniel Kenyon over Airpocalypse. Airpocalypse was easily the third or fourth best talent. Nathan didn't perform well .. ever. His voice was always shaky, and his voice lacks power. But because lots of teenage girls watch this show I guess, his winning shy smile gets him into the semifinals. I bet he bit his lower lips on purpose in a calculated effort to garner more teen girl support. Don't ask me why I'm looking at his lips. It's time to sleep now.
